Federal Member for Groom, Garth Hamilton, is bringing together key telecommunications providers to assist affected locals in the Toowoomba Region.
Mr Hamilton is hosting a free telecommunications forum, bringing key industry stakeholders and service partners to the community to assist with issues and deliver solutions.
“I recently conducted a telecommunications survey, revealing problems throughout the Toowoomba region with issues ranging from getting access to the internet in new areas, mobile reception and various drop outs. Unfortunately, far too many people are facing persistent connectivity challenges,” Mr Hamilton said.
“It is crucial that residents have the opportunity to engage with representatives from these service providers, to provide our community with the information and support they need to resolve their issues effectively,” Mr Hamilton said.
The panel of speakers will include representatives from leading organisations Telstra, NBN, and the Regional Tech Hub.
“People are frustrated with these ongoing issues and to make matters worse, the programs available to deliver upgrades have been cut in the Albanese government’s latest budget, effectively abandoning regional communications.”
