A Dutton-led Liberal National Government will invest $85,000 to upgrade facilities at the Toowoomba airport base, as part of the LNP’s plan to get Australia back on track, improve healthcare and support regional communities.
Federal Member for Groom, Garth Hamilton, said the LNP had a proud history of investing in regional healthcare and LifeFlight.
“LifeFlight provides critical care services to Queenslanders and is held in high regard around the state. Toowoomba serves as the base for operations that ensure the medical safety of regional people,” Mr Hamilton said.
“The last Liberal National Government delivered important upgrades to the LifeFlight facility and that is a legacy I will continue.
“We will partner with LifeFlight to build improved facilities including accommodation for health staff who do the all-important work of saving lives.”
Regional Advisory Chair of LifeFlight Darling Downs, Emily O’Sullivan, said “These upgrades are important in ensuring the service has adequate facilities to house medical and support staff.
“This investment in rural community health service facilities will support the work of our LifeFlight crews around Queensland.
“It is great to see the recognition of, and investment in, our infrastructure to support rural, regional and remote people and LifeFlight.”
